Default 2000 S40 Climate control

Hi There

I have a 2000 S40. Since last few days the amber lights on the Recirculation and AC button. Which means there is a fault some where in the system? This is how much i know.

I was wondering you intelligent folks may help out with this problem. I checked all the fuses they seem to be fine. I disconnected the battery thinking it will reset the problem. No help!

The problem started with the blower wont turning off even on 0 position. It was running no matter what it was set to Maule or auto. Just after 1 day it stopped. Now it doesn’t turn on any position.

Can you please help me diagnose the faulty part?
Thank you

Aleem

Default resistor

do a search "resistor" you will find many postings regarding this commonly known fault, easily rectified, the part costs about £26

Default Relay or Transistor for 2000 S40 ECC (Climate Control)

Hi There

I developed problem with my climate control, blower doesn’t work at all in any mode. but when i switch to defrost or any other mode i see it switching to that mode but blower still wont turn on. I read there is blower resistor in the blog but when i called the dealership they said there no resister but only a relay.

Can some one tell me where i can find this relay? And also let me know if there is transistor in it.

Thank you
Aleem
