Pirelli tyres are very soft and therefore quiet - and they're fantastic in (warm) Southern Europe, but not good at all on UK roads - road surface differs substantially (and this is my experience, I also used to like Pirellis).
Michelin tyres is the way to go. |

Doesn't sound too bad to me. I get 16 to 18k miles out of Michelin's on the front of my V60.
But the rears are original 5 years old and I got an advisory on the MOT test for cracking in the treads.

Hmm my oem 18” contis on my 17 xc60 D4 fwd have done 32k in conjunction with a set of winters (used for probably 6 of the 24 months at most so 24 and I’m not planning on changing for some time hoping to get to 3 years on these 8 tyres.... so nearly 50k
The winters were used when I bought them but have worn somewhat unevenly |
