Wonder what that says about me with 2 of them.
Swapped the P1 v70 for a P3 xc 70 2wd as I was finding getting out the v was getting far too undignified, the higher xc suits me better. The landrover goes where landrovers go, off road, it's a hobby car that gets used for short journeys as it has no dpf and longer runs in bad weather,( snow or floods ). It is also best suited to my getting in and out of as I just slide across and very comfortable, 8 hours in the driver's seat and still able to walk.
My vehicles suit me, many nurses were grateful of my landrover in the recent snows, being a member of 4x4 Response Wales and GLASS and the landrover proclaims this via its badges, I would hope I use my SUV in a responsible manner, I also hold a C&G in off road driving, it's a hobby I am serious about, overcoming it's challenges is what driving skill is about.

Paul.

But the XC60 isn't a true off roader it's an SUV. Yes a normal car will use less fuel as stated I do drive long distances for work so need something I can get out of at the other end & be able to walk.

It also has loads of space in it for kit when I need it. 3 or 4 adults for a camping trips to Belgium, Germany etc. (F1 races) is an example. Also some of the events I go to have very muddy fields as car parks so I do like to have the ability to get out of them.

I don't like to admit it, but the most comfortable car I have driven long distances was a Renault 21 Savanna estate car (used to do 25K a year in it), far nicer than the Audi Avant I replaced it with.

All the way to Inverness full of holiday luggage and 60mpg. I had to get rid of it as it was falling apart faster than I could fix it, tried an Espace but that disintegrated far quicker.

It was a very low car, but had twin rear springs, which I think helped with comfort.
