Hi all.
I have just purchased the tailgate close module and the rear light upgrade from Evgeny. The installation instructions are very easy to follow for both modules. Took me less than 30 mins from start to finish in the work car park one lunch time last week.
They are good quality and were well packaged. The delivery time was excellent too with great communication from Evgeny.

After a series of false starts, I now have the tailgate module in and working on my 2012 XC70. Can anyone else confirm that theirs functions in the same way as mine. When the close signal is sent from the key fob to a fully open tailgate, the tailgate seems to try to open a fraction further, there is an audibal click and then a pause of about a second or so and then the tailgate lowers.. Previously when the module malfunctioned in other respects, the lowering was a simple smooth operation but the other problems were too great to permit the system to be allowed to remain modified. I'm happy that the device now closes the tailgate remotely and from the dash but wondered if the slight upward jerking movement prior to closing was commen to others with similar cars.

That’s what mine does, had no problems in 6 months I’ve had it fitted.

Thanks for the response. It's nice to know that my mod works the same as others. I was an early adopter of this mod and had some problems which needed further development, so I wanted to know that what I have is an acceptable version at last. My thanks to Evgeny for all his hard work bringing the mod up to date.

New Module v4.0 with two features for your Volvo
V70,XC70 MY2008-MY2017
XC60 MY2013-MY2017
V40CC all MY

1: This module will disable the Start/Stop function (If your Volvo equipped Start/Stop function)
2: Make it possible to close the tailgate from the remote key fob or interior button.
It will protect your starter and battery from premature wear.
Remote close tailgate function works only on cars equipped with power tailgate option.

Easy plug and play Installation: Just plug the module connector into OBD2 connector and hide the module behind carpet at footwell.

Device consumes 10-15mA during operation and no more than 3mA in sleep mode.
Sleep mode enters a few minutes after the termination of the exchange via the CAN bus, when car is sleeping.

Module operation:
*Long press on remote or inside car will open the tailgate.
*Short press on remote or inside car will close the tailgate.

What would be the cost of this new v4 module shipped to the UK for MY17 XC60?

Is there a video link to show this in operation yet and how does it disable the start/stop function? I guess you just unplug it from the OBD socket before car goes in to Volvo dealer for servicing, Would it affect warranty in any way?

The module remembers the last state of the start / stop function and when the engine is started again turns it off or not

Before visiting the dealer, disconnect the module.
The module does not write errors in the auto log.
The dealer will not know anything about his existence
