Default D5 Euro4 Leak off test problem

Hi, this morning I decided to do a leak off test on my 2007 XC90 D5 185 ( Euro 4 ) using a Sealey leak off kit.

I had done one some time ago on my previous S60 D5 E4 using a home made kit borrowed from Outnumbered on here and it all went exactly as expected.

This morning I unclipped the original leak back return lines from all of the injectors and left them resting on the engine.

I then inserted what I took to be the correct adaptor from the kit into each injector and coupled up the plastic hoses and bottles.

The car started normally and some diesel was being returned to the measuring containers BUT diesel was pouring from each of the original, disconnected Volvo leak back couplings so I had to stop the test.

I refitted the original leak back pipes and the car runs correctly with no leaks.

Any ideas as to why because obviously this should not be happening. Hopefully it's something that I have done wrong when connecting the Sealey kit?
