I totally agree that Top Gear over the last 15 years has never been a true car show but more a show with cars in that is supposed to be entertaining.

Whether you love or hate Clarkson , as a team it worked because they didn't have to try. There was just a natural chemistry and it flowed.

The new show is absolute rubbish.

I actually find Matt le Blanc entertaining because he is errrr an actor, an entertainer.

The other two are just out of their depths and deeply unfunny.

I actually cringe when I watch Harris and Reid on camera trying to be entertaining or humorous.

Why did I watch last nights episode. I have asked myself this and have no logical answer . It was the last. Le Blanc needs more support than he is getting from these two muppets.

With 99% of these cars going no further off road than a Waitrose car park it doesn't really matter.

Thank you all for the comments. Firstly, I wasn't fishing for bites! I fully agree, if you don't like the program, then don't watch it. Saying that, my own thoughts on the program is that it is meant to be entertaining but IMO the three of them are no where near a patch on the Clarkson team for entertainment value and all of them are very poor quality 'wanna bee's'.
I guess I should say that IMO what Harris did verged on vandalism and would any company be in their right minds to give them the use of their cars in future if thats how they are going to be used? As one user has said, the other cars didn't get treated like the Volvo. By all means do such destructive acts on worthless pieces of scrap, but not on a new car. I can't help but wonder on which forecourt those cars will ended up on.
I also note that they never mentioned the XC60 has been voted World Car of the year. Hardly a balanced 'review' and in not saying that, highlights the shortfalls in their own knowledge and abilities.
Yes Waynedance, I chose to watch it as I have all the other episodes because I saw at the end of the previous episode that a Volvo was going to be featured, (quite a rare thing to happen). I also chose to watch it because I enjoy cringing at their poor attempts to copycat previous presenters. Had I not watched it, would such a topic have been posted and therefore no little 'digs' be able to be made.

Given the unlikely choice, I would have alpine over Audi tt or Cayman, and Cayman was my favourite. My kinda car, light, agile, thoughtful..

I think Renault have really captured the spirit and link back to the A110.

Lovely.

Owned two mx5 mk1, brilliant wee cars but they can rust quite badly. We currently have a z3 BMW which is much lardier but for the ninety per cent of the time we don't drive it like its a rental, it is a nicer car. I would love one of the new mx5.
