I try to avoid that mindset but sometimes..... e.g. last night I was quite tired so took a gentle drive home sticking to the speed limit all the way, tutting to myself like, well, like a tired old ex-Volvo driver as people swept past at "insane speeds". Hypocrisy, just a bit

I think this George Carlin chap was perhaps a bit bad tempered.

yes but only when they are going faster/slower than the speed limit/flow of traffic by a considerable amount. the ones i hate most are those who drive at a set speed and never change despite the speed limit changing.
ie there a road close to where i live that goes from a 40 to a 30 yet a few people just drive along the whole stretch at 35.

I know what you mean, once I pull off the motorway on the way to work, the speed limits go:

60/50/60/50/40/30/40/30/60/30/50/30

the people however drive at:

50/50/50/40/40/40/40/40/40/40/40/30!

(yes I was sad enough to sit here and think about my route to work to make sure I got it right!)
