Default 164 parts source in USA?

This is my first post. Looking to buy a 1969 164 that needs a few things. Where are the best places for parts? Are normal wear items available? For example steering and front end stuff? I tried IPD in USA but their offerings are limited. Local dealer was discouraging. I guess the factory does not support the really old cars?

1969 164 Parts Needed

• valve cover gasket (found some on eBay last night / other sources?)
• windshield rubber gasket
• brake master cylinder (or booster) - pedal goes to the floor
• brake pads, and possibly brake cylinders
• left (USA driver's side) hood hinge is broken (big rivet on body broke (looking for hood hinge assembly)
• wheel "beauty ring" (need one)
• diagonal Volvo trademark emblem for grille (missing)
• OEM period radio
• tune-up parts (cap, rotor, wires, etc.)

Highly recommend Ian and his brother at
http://hiperformanceautoservice.com

They are able to help with everything Volvo 164 related.
Don't know a better one in the States.

Good luck and have fun with your 164, Kay

I forgot in first answer Jeff:
IIRC 1969 will be with glued front windscreen.
Can't believe this one is the rubber one version, I would prefer the rubber version much over the newer and crappy glued version.

The windshield rubber is crudely sealed (all the way around) with some after-market sealant. Tried tracking down a new rubber gasket, but all roads lead to nowhere. If I can't find the right gasket, it will probably prevent me from buying the car. The owner says it doesn't leak, but it looks bad.

Again, just trying to find out ahead of time if this car makes sense or not. I want to be able to find the parts it needs. Appreciate the lead. Will contact them this week.

Hey Jeff, 1969 164 will be with rubber.
Perfect
Skandix part nr: 1020389
Same as 140 ( 142, 144, 145)

Volli Nr. 681882

Ian will have this in stock for shure

Maybe the 164 you are looking for will be without power steering. Ian will have all parts to uprate if without
Good luck, Kay

I was about to challenge Kay on 1969 Volvo 164 windscreen rubbers, as both my '69 and '70 have rubber like yours, but he corrected himself. By looking at on-line lists Skandix are the best for body panels, and our Brookhouse also show that rubber part number as available.
In my opinion '69 is the best year to go for (rubbers and better-looking rear lights) but that must have been the change-over year for power-steering as one of mine has it, one doesn't. Try to avoid the 164E models as those many extra's the injection system comprises are now a pain to get hold of - I speak from experience as my '72 has had many components fail over the years!
If the rest of your proposed purchase is good, then go for it! You haven't said if stick-shift auto or not: make sure the stick pivot area is OK and not breaking up as these are rare (over here).

Rust around the windscreen aperture can be serious. That may be the reason for the DIY screen sealant. In addition to Kay's link, you could also try Mike Dudek at http://www.irollmotors.com/

Default hood/bonnet hinge (left) and grille emblem

See attached.

Trying to determine of the hood/bonnet hinge (left) and grille emblem assembly are available.

Hinge
Left: Volvo Nr. 675657-1 (large rivet on lower section is broken).
SKANDIX does not seem to list the hinge.
http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...oof/bonnet/144

Emblem
parts 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 (available as an assembly?)
