V60 Tyres
Hello All,
We have a December 2013 Volvo V60 D3 Geartronic - basic spec wheels which we've owned for just over 4 years. Never owned a car which goes through tyres as the V60 does, and now it needs the tyres replaced again on the front because they have worn on the inside (tracking recently done, and only lasted 10,000 miles). I'd be interested to find out how long tyres last on your Volvo, and which brand are best to replace them with? I'm looking at Pirelli Cinturato P7, Continental, Bridgestone or Michelin. Many thanks in advance! |

Pirelli Cinturato Tires
I put 4 of these on my S80 a year ago. I am happy with them except for one crazy thing. I am constantly getting a low tire pressure light. When the outside temp rises at least one tire will lose air. I've never had this problem with any other brand tire. Here is the crazy thing. When I told my Volvo mechanic I had bought Pirelli tires he told me he wished I got something else because for some reason the Pirelli tires will not hold air on the Volvo. I have had MAVIS check the tires for bad seals, leaks etc and they claim there is no problem. This sounds crazy but my Volvo man has never steered me wrong.

I have a 2014 V60 D6, tyres it came with, pilot sports did about 8k, since fitted Michelin Cross climates, get around 20k on the fronts
My old S60 D5 was about the same, used to get 10-12k on fronts. Car did over 20k with the cross climates. I consider 12k from the front on these cars pretty good! |

Interesting re the Michelin cross climates. We just put them on my wife's Mazda 3 2.2 diesel Sport. No discernible grip/ noise difference between then and the Michelin Pilot Sport tyres they replaced, at least in the dry and wet. Better I hope if we get snow and icy conditions. When I change the tyres on the Polestar, I might well go with the cross climate tyres if I can get them with the correct speed and load markings (despite the 2015 warning by Polestar otherwise) |
