I would hope you'd have known the answer......

But yes, the newer cars in effect have a wideband thats readable with the right kit.

I should hope you CAN get customised maps from RICA - considering you shelled out over 2000 Euros for their CMDFlash Dealer unit.....

Actually, RICA NL were quite happily going to do EXACTLY the same thing - and we have the email evidence direct from the owner of RICA NL... Of course, their plans to screw everyone over changed when they realised just how ****ed off everyone was - but more importantly, it had a shed load more to do with the fact it was clearly spelled out that if they did it, then they would find themselves in a sticky wicket with that thing called EU Law....

With regards to RICA -v- MTE...

It's been made very clear by a member who has given RICA every chance to do what they say they can (I think it's over 8 maps he'd had) - and it is patently clear that RICA just cannot do it, and that includes integrating the latest volvo updated software <which they reckon they do, but clearly can't>.......

Read it in his own words..

He's now gone to MTE, and they have sorted it

Simples...

Well s60Ben, what can I say except that the customers' feedback can make or break the tuning business. In BadgerBox's case, he discussed with the man in Holland himself ? I'm in Hungary now but I'm going to the Netherlands this Saturday, and I planned to visit RICA. I'll also discuss at length with him based on this thread (incl Badger's) and see what he has to say. Hopefully I'll have something to report here as I always put customers' interest first - making money is easy, not friends.

Default Good software!

Whilst you are at rica HQ you might like to show this to the owner and his son.....a recent post on the widely read Swedespeed forum just availing the Volvo owning community of the opportunity to avoid those traders lacking not only the basic skills and knowledge but veracity.

Check out post 22

Hi Don,

Thanks for the heads up. Will show these posts to them. It'll be good if such links are located on this thread so I can just click on them to pursue the matter. I'm also interested in plugging any bugs that might affect me in the future. Better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, thats why in my experience RICA and a great many of their agents make such a habit of obfuscation, lies and bulls*it...

I've no idea, however he was dealing a great many times with RICA, RICA UK, and their agents - you shouldn't have to discuss it with the "man in holland" himself.....

Discuss, but you won't get the truth..

That'll be a first from a RICA agent.... most of them go to RICA's special school for lessons in how to make money from your 'friends'

to clarify, I dealt with adam & fg automotive, who made 2 visits to see myself at fg automotive. used his own vct and personally datalogged car himself, so he does not have deniability in this. vct was then loaned to fg for them to datalog after the many revisions to maps that were fitted to the car. some the car would not even start, even trying few times to start it.
I dealt with Fg automotive mansfield, notts.they were extremely helpful and could not have done more to help. they did not charge me for all their time and effort and are really the innocent party as all they do is load the maps.
They did deal with RICA NL direct whilst adam was on hols, they did not get answers to their emails/phonecalls and questions. They found the service abd backup from rica with this issue was very poor so not surprising it did not get resolved. all the datalogs showed exactly the same thing.
any revisions did not alter anything. boost, fuelling, lambda, intake temps, ingn angle were all same. I don't know how rica can claim they were revisions.
they state on website they custom map for downpipe, fmic's,bigger injs.
well in my case they clearly can't.
The mte stage 2 map worked perfectly first time and is not even a custom map.
ant.

Thanks Badger,

I hope I can get "them" to visit this forum and I would propose to have a customer based one-to-one email support where as a customer, you can drop your comments/feedback (which is available now to new customers). I'm sure they themselves do not have the contacts of previous clients.

Hi Ben,
Since you know where I'm attached to, that is my main priority. The other stuff is more of a hobby and my friends trust me to do the right thing. I've also not much time to start making new friends

It doesn't matter anyhow, they fail to respond directly to many many people who have issues - despite having their contact details.. As for "one to one" email... they already have that....

Damned expensive hobby is the CMDFlash at over 2000 Euros....

For a "hobbier" you certainly seem to be taking it very seriously with a visit to rica nl, and trying to defend/sell for them on various different threads on here and elsewhere....

Well Ben, nothing is oerfect, so why not work with what you have, rather to start all over again ? From my manufacturing background. even the best of things have rooms for improvement, though it doesn't seem I'm dealing with the best.

Like I said, I have money which I rather spent on my cars, hobbies etc. Some who rather spend on furniture, house, mistress, gambling, etc. Also my visit to Holland coincides with my yearly business trip = so I guess it's nothig to shout about.

As for defending RICA, well they have been very accomodating and as a customer, I get what I needed from them. You can see alot of people vouching for other principals too and it's only natural I do the same.
