Smile 360 GLS sold

Hello

Thanks to everyone on here for their comments and interest.

Craig bought the Volvo and drove it back to Yorkshire from Essex

Thanks to Jim and Craig who were both top blokes, (I am glad you liked the Volvo's eighties sound system as much as I did!) They have already brought the paint up way better than I could have and I look forward to seeing it get some uprated wheels and suspension soon.

Cheers , now if anyone has a 240GLT estate going begging please let me know

A couple of years ago I posted pics of my 360GLS manual hatchback I found lying dormant in an industrial estate .
I am now selling this car as I am moving house and losing my garage space
I don't want to see this car living outside so I have to sell

I bought the car as an MOT failure and over the next few months fixed up the bits and pieces to make it roadworthy again. I've listed whats been done below.
This is a rare old beast as it is factory black, with a gold pinstripe, fitted with a tilt and slide sunroof, electric front windows and central locking. It still has its Wentworth dealer badge on the boot.It also has a period Blaupunkt stereo mated to period eighties Pioneer speakers front and back and a Pioneer graphic equaliser

It is the 20L B19 engine with single carb
The interior is excellent, and all present and correct with immaculate carpets protected by full Volvo mats front and back and immaculate seats The body is very good but the paint is flat and marked in places. It looks better in the photos than it does when you see it in the flesh . there is a small scratch on the passenger side door- and on the sunroof panel where there is also an rust mark /bubble
The car has done 61000 miles and change , and has an MOT to July 2019.

New parts all in the last two years
1)Brake master cylinder
2) wheel cylinders all round
3)New headlamp nearside
4)used tail light assembly nearside ( Theres a small chip in the corner see photos)
5)New tyres all round
6)New exhaust
7)New windscreen wipers
8)New Headlamp wipers ( yes they work )
9)New battery last month
10) oil change and service last year - only a few hundred miles since

Bad bits
1)There is some light scabbing of rust immediately below the rear driver side passenger door window I've taken a photo to show you this, I treated this when I first got the car and have left it untouched since
2)There is also some scabbing on the slam panel for the hatchback which i also treated, you can only see it when the hatch is open.
3)The tilt and slide sunroof works but the seal around it has dried out and sagged stopping operation. This must have been like it for some time as there are scratches on the sunroof panel where it has dragged before
4)There are two small dents on the drivers wing- see photo
5) The fan only works on max speed - apparently this is quite common?

And thats it! It's a great survivor car , not perfect and not concours but it wears its original paint and has all its trim in good order and still motors along.

If you are interested please give me a call on my number below or post on the thread, I would like £1250 for the car, and I would like a Volvo enthusiast to buy it as it is too good to become a drift/rally special
Take a look at the photos and tell me what you think. I can't seem to post many on here so you can always contact me and i could send them direct to your email you can also hunt back for the previous images I posted

Many thanks

Just missing the applicable AA badge on the Grille! A lot of 80's cars had them!

Very nice machine, glad it sold.

Don't see that many about now, my uncle had one in the 80s, recall it was quite rusty.? Was this an issue on these cars?

It was on my MIL's 1983 car. She got a flat at ours one day back in '99. I went to change the wheel and while the jack went up the car didn't. After looking at several 360s, none of which cut the mustard, she eventually replaced it with a '95 Saab 900 that later saved her life - but that's another story.

Regards. John.

Seems to be the only Volvo that had issues with rusting badly.?
Models before and after seemed much better.
Had a couple of Saab 93s but the GM era ones.😳

Excellent car and a good price. So tempted....but I am in the process of down-sizing, not buying! If this was closer however! A friend of mine had a GLT a fantastic car.

I now own this car and it’s a dream! It’s been lowered on minilites before I got it though! Sits well, drives well! Any idea on the Wentworth badge?

How much you give for it?

Bloke who bought it off Craig stuck another £1000 on the price tag and stuck it straight back up for sale!

Nice car though.

Yea I noticed that hahah! I swapped my 1996 Lexus LS400 for it! The Lexus only owed me £700 so I’d say I got a good deal
