I have got quotes from two places and they are both about 2 hours labour.
The first place is listed as a Volvo Specialist on the Volvo owners club website:

King Street Motors in Reading
0118 978 6238

The other places is:
IVM Engineering LTD
Rear of Badgers barn
Mole road
Sindlesham
Rg41 5dj
07841078591

They don't specialise in Volvos but he seemed much more confident about changing the seal rather than replacing the whole servo unit.

Thanks, can you let me know where you end up and if it cures your hissing? I am just about to order the part in now.

Thanks,
Jack

Sure, I will try to remember but if you don't hear from me within a month drop me a message to remind me.

Received the seal from Poland....
Reading the instructions on the CD that came with it I got a little bit scared. I think I might remove the booster from the car. I hope the weather will be fine.

On LHD cars is already a hard job, on RHD cars is much worse. I'll try doing it without removing the booster soon. Video is removing the booster on LHD cars (North American model) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKcDOLIYR3A

A local garage of mine replaced the servo seal with the replacement one from Poland.
As my car is RHD they had to drop the engine and sub frame, which resulted in a couple of broken bolts which they had fun getting out.

But the brake servo is now fixed and working well.

It’s difficult to say exactly how much it cost as I was having other work done at the same time.
But probably around £300 > £400, it would have been much less had it not been for the broken bolts.
