Default Coolant expansion tank

Anyone know where I can lay my hands on a coolant expansion tank for a 2005 S40 2.0 SE D?

I called my local motor factors and they say its a genuine volvo part and are unable to source one for me.

Thanks

I just replaced mine because it was split on the top http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=174757

I bought mine from FRF Volvo parts via this Forum using the discount code, I think it was £28.00? something like that. Quite easy to fit yourself but need to siphon the coolant out first and you will lose a little bit from the rear (larger) hose. Get the hose open-ends up in the air a bit to save losing water, I put loads of rags under them as well to stop spillage.

The hose clips are reusable but be careful not to mash up those little ones on the vent lines at the front.

I did the whole job in about 20 mins.

Ford uses the exact same one in the Focus. I think even Mazda use it in the 3 and 5 series.

It is a Ford part, mine had a Volvo sticker on it but had FoMoCo embossed in the plastic body!

Might be cheaper from Ford but slightly confusing to source.....

If I remember correctly, the partnumber is the same. They are identical. And if Volvo puts a sticker on that FoMoCo stamp, it is technically illegal As it isn't a Volvo part and nor is Volvo a part of FoMoCo (anymore)

It was like this in the bag, although the sticker was down on that flat bit on the side, I moved it to the top and then thought better of it:

Then, underneath you can just make out the Ford stampage:

I'll have a look for the part number later when I get home.......

The weird thing was the bottle had an extraordinary complicated system of weirs and chambers inside it was bizarre, I might cut the lid off the old one for a nosey inside it.
