2017 City Motors Volvo / T5D5 Charity Track Day

We are very proud to be one of the co-sponsors this year, for this annual event, to be held at Castle Combe Circuit on Friday 30th June.

Below is the Information Release for the event, in support of fundraising for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, and there is also a dedicated Facebook page for the event itself:

City Motors / T5D5 Charity Track Day

2017 will be the 8th annual Charity Track Day in conjunction with the High Performance Volvo Club forum (T5D5).

The event has been scheduled for Friday 30th June 2017, at Castle Combe Racing Circuit in Wiltshire, and will be run from 9am-4pm, in the format of an “open-pitlane” track day:

0800hrs Driver Signing In and Noise Testing
0830hrs Driver Briefing followed by Sighting Laps behind Pace Car
0900hrs Track Opens
1600hrs Track Closes followed by Prize Raffle

City Motors Volvo in Bristol are the main event sponsors and 30 Cars have be booked in for the day, comprising members from the T5D5 and Pistonheads forums. Staff from City Motors Bristol and Volvo Car UK will be attending, together with invited guests.

The nominated Charity for all fund raising activities this year will be the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and the co-sponsors for the event are RTS Consultants (UK) Ltd. and Elk Performance Ltd..

Torslanda Factory & Polestar Cyan Racing Visits

This year, we have the pleasure of welcoming a group of fellow Volvo owners and enthusiasts from the Volvo Enthusiasts Club Malaysia [VECM.my], to our track day on 30th June. In recognition of their visit, we have organised a Factory visit to Sweden from 26th – 28th June 2017 and will be visiting the following venues:

26th June – Guided tour of the Volvo Cars Brand Experience Centre and the Volvo Cars Visitor Centre Blue Train tour
27th June – Guided tours of the Volvo Hällered Proving Ground and Volvo Museum.
28th June – Guided tour of Polestar Cyan Racing HQ kindly hosted by Christian Dahl, CEO of Cyan Racing

We are particularly grateful for the visit to the Hällered Proving Ground, which has been Volvo’s test track facility for performance Volvo cars over many decades and usually only accessible to Volvo employees.

Many thanks to our friends at Volvo Car UK, Volvo Cars Sweden and Cyan Racing, for arranging the various tours and making the visit possible and a special word of thanks to Volvo Car UK for kindly covering the costs of the various visits.

Volvo UK Track Prepped Volvo V40

Some photos of the V40 Track Car which will be making its debut at the City Motors / T5D5 Charity Track Day on 30th June at Castle Combe Racing Circuit. The car was one of the Training and Development cars which has been stripped and fitted with a roll-cage and the full range of Polestar Performance Accessory parts, including Polestar Optimisation.

Wynn is indeed leading the contingent, but regretfully Suhairi has been unable to make this trip but I'm sure we will see him on a future one!

Raffle Prizes
