Hi all

I’m new here and I just purchased a 1997 V70 2.5 lpt automatic. 180k on the clock and the car has no history.

I’ve booked it in for a service this Saturda, but looking to see if this was your car, what would you do?

I have looked under the bonnet and seems nice and clean, starts and runs, and drives well. I know the suspension needs attebetion as when I push down the left hand side, the top of the strut jumps around!

Was also looking to get advice on tuning and getting more HP.

Cheers guys, look forward to hearing your comments.

27, owning my first Volvo, s60 d5.
No point of telling you guys how much I love it and how much it struck me what difference it makes to the cars I've had/driven so far. Btw I'm partly driving for a living so the variety I've experienced is massive.
My point is differen, any time I make eye contact with a pedestrian or another driver, while stopped, I can see it in their eyes. They look at me, then the car and then back at me, with that particular confusion, almost whispering "but wait... you're.... you're quite young" so I was wondering if any other volvo owners under 30 meet the same judgment?
PS
Don't get me wrong, I love confusing people my age, especially when their insignia can't cope up power wise even with the eco regime switched off and is yet returning less mpg with the eco on... Go figure

Imagine how they look at me - 22 years old and driving a 1992 240 Estate.

52 and in a brand new XC90 here.

I need a big car as I have very big dogs. Have been through multiple X5s, Touaregs, MLs, but the XC90 is a step up in dog room with the 3rd row folded flat.

Despite the utilitarian aspect of why I chose it, it's a lovely car in its own right.

"Stylish" I would say:~
Drove this one when I was 22 and still driving it today (the car is 65 in Jan)
The other two Volvo cars have 52years between them.

I'm 33 and currently sans Volvo, but back when I was 30 I bought my first which was a 745 Turbodiesel.
Really miss that car...
