Default Wiper linkage

Can anyone please help i have a 2003 volvo v40 sport the wiper linkage is worn volvo want £102 for a new one I found one from a company in Germany for £52 but the linkage to the motor is to long not a problem as I changed it with my old one but when I tried to locate the 3 studs on the spindle only 2 would line up with the holes I contacted them and was told that it was compatible with my chassis number I’ve sent it back but am wary of looking for another one incase it’s the same can any one help Thanks

What part is worn? Is is just that the wiper is knocking against the hood edge? If so, you don't need to use the whole new wiper linkage. All you need to do is replace the little black plastic cylinder which is located in that piece with the three protruding bolts. I think I posted a thread on this a long time ago.

It hits the bonnet and also judders an squeaks on the screen I thought about just changing the black plastic part but as I said the studs don’t line up with the holes

Is it possible that, with the company being german, that they may have sent a mechanism for a left hand drive car ?
I'm assuming yours is right hand drive ?

As I recall, I think you can take the black plastic part out and insert it into your old linkage avoiding having to use the three pronged bit.
Edit: woops, you are right, the black piece IS the piece with the three protruding bolts. Shoot.

That thought crossed my mind but going by my chassis ni they assured me it was right but that’s why i was hoping someone else has come across this problem

Mine was £85 for the linkage from FRF Volvo, with the C3 internet discount, give them a call.

It didn't fix my arm touching the bonnet though, still need to work out how I'll fix that.
