my friend had the same issue with his s40 2004, some kind of drain system from ac was clogged and water dripped into cem/fuse box. It caused same problems with antiskid and wipers on.

that would be the SUN ROOF drains being blocked and leaking into the cabin Not the a/c drain

I have the same problem on my 2008 S40 2.0D. I've noticed it only ever happens when someone/something accidentally kicks the front of the passenger footwell. It must dislodge a wire/connection. I stick my hand under and make sure that everything is 'in place' and the message disappears.

Not the best advice but seems to support Pacman's solution.

Just a quick one to say the problem was fixed.
Had no choice at the time but to take it the local Volvo specialists. Vida check done and £170 later.
Bloke said it was the cemetery module and all he did was take it out and clean it with contact cleaner.

If I'd have seen the post saying that earlier would have done it myself.

Just happy it's fixed.

Just had the same problem happen to me yesterday (wipers on, traction control error, no back wiper control, no signals, etc.). I pulled the wiper fuse until I had a chance to look in to it properly. I ended up just opening up the CEM and reseating everything. It all went back to normal after that.

Hopefully that also fixes the issue I've been having of my wipers turning on for a cycle when I hit a hard bump.

I have a similar issue on my 2009 C70 with the anti skid message, wipers on constantly, indicators not working. I also have a few extra issues where the heater controls do not work, i cannot set the cabin temperature or redirect the air from the windscreen to the footwell for example, also the cabin preheater is stuck on so the battery drains in around an hour or 2 (brand new battery).

Ive removed the CEM module and cleaned all the contacts, visually checked for any signs of corrosion and still have the issue.

I then sent the board off to volvodiagnostic for replacement and that has not solved the issue.

I systematically checked all the connectors in the plugs that i can, which all look clean, and visually they all look good.

Its looking like i will have to bite the bullet and take it for a visit to volvo unless anyone has any further ideas?

FWIW I got the exact same symptoms yesterday (V50, '10): I'd just bled the brakes and was taking a trip round the block, testing the brakes with increasing enthusiasm. After about a mile: "anti-skid service required", wipers on and indicators not working. (I don't know if anything else wasn't working).

I went home, found this thread, and this morning went out armed with contact cleaner. The message had gone and the wipers and indicators are working as normal.

I cleaned the contacts anyway, just for good measure.

Not necessarily, as /\ says the only real way to diagnose is Volvo dealer as they have the proper Vida equipment which most indy's won't have,
Could be expensive if its the main ECM £900, brake module £600, others £???
Hopefully it's neither and it's a cheap fix.
