I did look at others but we wanted the original look as opposed to the aftermarket look of most of the others.

It's not my car, but the missus and the kids like them (especially the youngest, and I quote, "It makes my life so much easier" ...she's 8 going on 21 and prone to a little exaggeration).

Cheers

No worries. My only other bit of advice would be get some assistance for two reasons...

1. Helps holding the parts in position whilst bolting them together.
2. You won't be able to hold the complete assembly in place and bolt it on to the car by yourself.

Cheers.

Martin.

Good advice Martin the only other way, which is what I did, was to use a spare set of axel stands to place the other end on at roughly the same height.
Although an extra pair of hands would be more preferable than the way I did it.

Tannaton: You simply must get the name of the insurer which canceled the lad's policy due to debadging.

I had the thought that the black box installer was a dolt but debadging falling into a broad "identification removal" category sounds possible.

Another possibility is that the company is assuming debadging is to make the car-a performance enhanced car- more appealing to youthful racers.

Yet another is that debadging attracts vandals in parking lots.

They just pull the plug instead of inspecting the car because it's cheaper to do it that way.

It's like being "proofed" at liquor shops when you're in your 40's-50's-60's. They check everyone and no mistakes are made. Likely the shop enjoys lower insurance rates because of this.

Not really, as when I fitted mine a few years back the screws are pretty long with bags of thread.
