I don't know if you have fitted the new cable yet but, I was looking through a Service Green Book today and came across this. It's all pretty obvious but, here's a copy anyway. Bob

That's helpful, for re-assembling the original linkage once I get the spindle released.

I ordered a complete used replacement assembly, motor and linkages, from Norfolk Volvo Spares (http://www.norfolkvolvospares.co.uk) forthe pricely sum of £35 including delivery and fitted that. No adjustment needed and now I can drive the car in all weathers again.

And there'll be a write-up in a future issue of the "Driver".
