Default Anti Skid Service but only above 70MPH?

Volvo S40 Anti Skid Service Warning light

I have searched through this forum as I know there have been a lot of posts about this but mine is behaving slightly differently to what other people have said. This warning light has come on three times in about a month or maybe two months.

- always when driving at speeds of 70-80mph
- as soon as you stop the car turn the ignition off and back on again it disappears
- has only come on since I had a new turbo and cambelt fitted
- another warning light that comes on intermittently is one saying ‘remote battery- low voltage’ So thinking it could be a voltage problem? Have yet to replace battery in the key.

Others have suggested this could be anything from a failing ECU to a faulty steering wheel sensor. Anyone have any ideas/experience with this? Model is 2006 1.6 diesel.

Thank you.

Oddly enough my V70 D5 has both these symptoms. The anti skid warning came first and I suspected was from a sensor being knocked when a caliper was changed. If I clear the anti skid fault using VIDA it can be gone for weeks or more before reappearing. I also have an occasional brake light bulb warning but that's due to wiring in the boot hinge getting worn. It only comes on with the boot open! On our older V70 several wires were broken in this "hinge" and resulted in my having to climb in the boot to open it lol. Had them all soldered and even the heated rear screen started to work again

Do you have access to a VIDA laptop?

Thanks for your reply. No I don’t, a friend of mine does so going to take it to him in the near future. Just wondered if I needed to brace myself for it being something really serious but I’m hoping it won’t be!

I've used VIDA to clear said fault through two MOTs, there's nothing actually wrong in my case other than a confused sensor. Hope you find similar.
