Default ABS self test

Evening all,

I have noticed the first time I use the brakes, after starting up, the ABS is kicking in and the pedal is pulsing. This is not the self test just after start up as I have only noticed it in the last 2 days- I've had the car for years.

Any ideas anyone?

Could it be because the pads are nearly worn out?

Had a new ABS ECU two years ago and no ABS light on.

It is an AP kit but I don't think that is relevant.

Thanks

I had a similar problem on my old 740, start it up first thing and when you pulled away the abs light would come on and the pedal would pulsate. If you switched of the ignition and restarted it would clear ,the Volvo dealer cleaned the sensors and problem solved. Hope this helps.

All the best Roger.
