I have a 1994 T5 which I am generally very pleased with. One problem though is that the front brake callipers seem to have play in them and rattle when on uneven surfaces! The efficiency of the brakes appears to be ok but I wondered whether anyone else had come across this and whether there is a fix at reasonable cost?

Many thanks

Hi Shj,

It could simply be a case that whoever replaced the pads forgot to put the anti rattle springs back in. Have you removed the pads to check?

I don't know what replacement springs cost but it can't be much so check out the price and see if you can fit them. It'll probably cure the problem.

Regards

Andy

What happened about the post of the 4th jan saying you were disgusted with everyone having differing opinions and you were leaving forthwith?

Humbly suggest you go and re-read Andy's post - I thought it was quite clear what he was saying.

Hi

Another thought if Andy's suggestion doesn't work, I had this problem when I had my 850 T5 and found that non Volvo pads were fitted and caused the rattle. Fitted Volvo pads and the rattle went!

Good luck
