V70 tyre wear
A letter in yesterdays Telegraph suggested that a tyre life of between 7,000 miles - 12,000 miles was normal for a current model V70. I am on 11,500 miles and there is still 4.5mm on the front. thecar is on Michelin Premacy
What tyre life are you getting ? |

all depends on the model if your driving and the tyres your using, if you own a low powered variant and you drive like a old woman then your going to get a hell of a lot more life than a t5 thats driven hard, between 7k and 12 sounds about a fair average

Lucky to get to 15K - they "seemed" to wear quicker towards the end.
Made the mistake of not rotating - always used to do this, but no idea why did not undertake on this car. Mine is a D5 with the 4C and I do like a "swift" drive in the NSL. Have gone to Cotinentals to see how they last. |

Gosh this sounds very poor !!!
I'm changing to V70 (late July I hope) but at present have a Land Rover Freelander 2, yes one of those gas guzzling planet destroying 4 X 4's .... NOT ... I had my first tyre change at 55,000 miles at which point all 4 tyres were changed as they were at a re-markedly similar stage of wear. I will be very disappointed if the Volvo isn't somewhere close to this ... |

Hoping to get about 20 - 22k myself on 17" x 50 series tyres. Got 23k on a v50 on 18" 45 series Pirelli Zero Rossos and Michelin should last a little longer.
Also got 50k out of michelins on wifes toyota 60 series Personal view is lower profiles tend to wear much faster. It is ridiculous to be fitting £700 of tyres before you need a service!!! |

Continental
I have Continental Sport on an S80 D5. 20500 miles with 4.0 ml still on front and 7.0 on rear. I will be staying with this brand when I have to replace them.
