Default 2 x volvo 850 AWD reluctant sale

For those of you who have followed/commented on my previous "help" threads you will know that I purchased an 850 AWD early last year and after it had developed a "transmission" fault I purchased a second AWD to act as a spares donor. Well circumstances have taken a turn for the worse and after completely stripping and storing the donor car the landlord of the garage block that we rent has decided to build houses on the plot so I have very reluctantly decided that I have to get rid of my project.
I will put up pics of the whole AWD later but wanted to get the text done first. The whole 850 has recently failed its MOT on leaking Nivomats both sides, hole in exhaust (rear section) causing emissions fail and a split near side drive cv boot. The Nivomats off donor car were also shot but another poster on here says the V70 XC ones fit and are easier/cheaper to get hold of, the other items I obviously have the spares for.
There are no warning lights up on the dash and everything works as it should apart from the heated front seats (lights but no heat) which I have traced to the wire under the seat coming off the heat pad, the load cover roller doesn't roll and one of the headlamp wipers is removed as it doesn't park properly. Also the main propshaft has been removed in the process of finding the transmission fault which the local Volvo specialist has identified the muff coupler failed, but further investigation would be necessary. Various small scrapes to the extremities (which they all get) and small dent to rear quarter (shown in photo) plus passenger front wing top has crazed.
Has two new handbrake cables and shoe sets fitted for the MOT, two new rear tyres and two good on front plus the spare, complete new PCV system fitted along with new water pump, cam belt and auxiliary belt at the same time.
The donor car, before it was immobilised, was put on stands and the AWD system checked by running with wheels off ground and a compression test done showing 170 across all 5 cylinders. It had ABS, TRACS, lambda and service lights on, odometer didn't work but speedo did, front passenger foglight missing, various dents and scrapes to bodywork which was metallic green. The entire interior was scrapped, as it was badly torn and the wrong colour, but have kept the cream seats (poor condition) for frames etc and the dash as was integral.
Many of the body parts for these are now becoming NLA through Volvo and the M58 AWD gearbox is NLA with Volvo and when looking for a replacement the only one I could find was second hand from Germany at £850 plus carriage.
The AWD 850 is a rare model (more so than the T5 and R versions) and with a fully working AWD system even rarer still and will surely become a future classic.
Before I put it all on ebay and get inundated by all the twonks that seem to inherit that site I was hoping that a fellow enthusiast in the forum may be looking for that future classic and have the time, patience and space to do it justice.
Am hoping to get £4200 for the lot, please PM me for more details and I will answer as best as I can, car located in Buckinghamshire, will post the photos later, cheers John

PS since I bought the donor vehicle I have not seen another one of these up for sale anywhere else, despite looking!

Would I be correct in assuming you have inadvertently, added one to many zeros to the price, I think the last one of these I saw was around £350 with a long MOT. with fully working awd and lpg.

lol, no, I know what the individual parts go for and how difficult some are to source so am hoping it goes as a lump as I now don't have the time available to sell individually

I think you are over valuing a awd 850, they are nothing special, rare doesn't mean sought after, you could buy two good T-5R's for what you are asking for your scrap. I sold a good M58 last year for £100.

Agreed - the asking price of £4200 is wholly unrealistic.
Subtract a "0" at least

John - I nearly choked on my cup of tea when I saw that price tag. Car would need to be pretty well in perfect interior and exterior working order to even hazard that price.

Sorry to disagree but you will be lucky to get much more than £300.

I might have been interested in some parts for long time storage but at realistic pricing only.

GLWS though :/

That is extreme money, even piecing it out you'd be lucky to get a third of what your after.

It would really be in the hundreds not thousands.

As said above £300-500 is really the money for these cars, mine cost me that and has full a lpg kit on it too and is in good condition body wise, breaking would not even make the £4200, if it could they'd be all over ebay as everyone would be doing it. Might be in the market for a good rear diff and centre viscous coupling if the price is right ??

Hi Bren, am in a bit of a hole at the mo so was trying to gauge some interest, which I think has been conclusive, so will probably just break the other one as well and recoup as much as I can, cheers John
