Default 1.6 diesel DrivE very sluggish?

Daughter’s 2009 C30 1.6 diesel DrivE has always been slow. I serviced it today and did some diagnostic tests while testing afterworlds. 0-60 is 18.9 seconds which has led me to suspect the turbo isn’t working. What can I do to check?

The first thing to do is get it hooked up to VIDA, Volvo's diagnostic tool to read the fault codes and point you in the right direction.

That may be a challenge in the current situation as you might struggle to find a garage with VIDA that's open. Following the end of lockdown you might find a friendly forum member near you that's happy to do a scan for you with their VIDA setup.

That's where to start.

I've already run it thought VIDA using a friend's system (we decided it was a safer option than him have the car) and there are no fault codes.

manual or auto? 100% sure your not getting slip on a clutch or a duff torque converter?

Manual as per sig. There's no clutch issue.

She's taken the car back now. I will check this though when she brings the next shopping round, thanks.

I suppose a duff resirc valve for the turbo would mean a lack of boost but wouldn't necessarily throw a code depending how it's managed on these cars.
