Here's some photo's of my refurbished 17" 'Spartes' alloys that I fitted to my S80 recently.

Next on the agenda is a wash, if it stops raining!

I've replaced the weedy 16W reversing bulbs with these badboys:

Initially I was worried they would be too bright and dazzling but now I can see when reversing in the dark!!

Painted the stereo amplifier under the seat black so it no longer sticks out like a sore thumb. Being on the big side I have the seat right back and it was exposed.

I’ve fitted OEM wipers front and rear and I’ve got to say the difference is amazing. Granted I had no idea how old the previous set were, but I like that I’m not getting smears now.

Over the weekend, I replaced the lower torque mount & upper torque rod on my S80.

Its worth noting that there was some confusion when I rang my local dealership to order the parts. Volvo call the lower torque mount a 'pad', eventhough its listed on Vida as being called a torque mount... The easiest way to describe the part I needed was to send a picture to the parts department & then they could locate it on their system.

8 months ago I saw some cheap A5/B5 oil for my car going in Tesco which I bought. I then decided to do an oil change to keep boredom at baay as I saw I had an oil filter on the shelf. Changed the oil, went to fit the filter, DOH wrong filter. It was for my last V70 so waited a couple of days till that arrived in the post.

Saw a rear lighter socket for the cargo area on eBay for £10 from Lithunia of all places. That is £40 cheaper than buying from Volvo! Fitted that. Found the loom ready and waiting and there was even a mark as to where I should drill the hole.

Whilst waiting for my new Bilstein B4 front shocks to arrive (first to be ordered, last to arrive!) I decided to paint my callipers. Have given successive cars red callipers, but thought I'd be different this time and have gone with blue... Brush on Smoothrite was recommended elsewhere, so have tried that and it looks fab on the one I have done. Had some transfers left from my "old" C30 (they had lasted really well) so applied them too... All part of a simple plan to fit Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs during the lockdown. Lucky I don't need to go anywhere at the moment...

Today, whilst waiting for my new shocks to be delivered (and with the car already jacked up and suspension removed), I decided to renew my auxiliary belt and tensioner. No problem with getting one - D3/4 163bhp 2011 MY - Gates K015PK1123XS micro-v kit is the right one... except my engine has an entirely different tensioner fitted - no Torx drive for relieving the tensions in every picture I have seen, instead a raised "nut" positioned below the tensioner pulley. And now I am struggling to get the installation torx bolt removed. Why is nothing ever simple?

Applied a Cross Country decal to the rear of my P3. Doesn't look too shabby and susprised Volvo never kept it on the XC70 when they moved to the newer model. I have seen others apply this to the doors at side too.
