C70 boot

Good afternoon. I’m after some advice please. The boot on my 2006 won’t open via the external release. Reading on here I gather it’s quite common. Does anyone know how I remove the microswitch ( the part which also has the number plate lights) I’ve removed the rubber cover and the number plate lights but I can’t see how to get the damn thing out.... Also the lower plastic trim in the boot. To remove it do I gently pull it or are there any screw holding it in. I can’t find any info on google.
