I have this issue too, when cold cranks for about 5-6 seconds and fires up, then a smell of fuel - but fires up within a second when warm.

Let us know how the new FPR goes!

iv had trouble with this if iv turned the key too quickly when the system is priming - like a diesel grr. i get 24mpg on a motorway run cruising at 56mph

i have also been concerned because it is incredibly tappety after a long run - the tappettyness changes with the fuel i use aswell...maybe an FPR issue, i would like to know how yours goes aswell..

Well my symptoms were :-
Poor cold start needing continual cranking
When it did start ran like it was on choke, strong smell of fuel like it was flooded

When it's warm starts on the button every time until its left for a while then we start with the continual cranking again.

So the good news is it's fixed, purring like a kitten she is

And the culprit was............................................... ..........................

Given you've only had cold start issues and no mention of poor economy

....Starter motor or battery.
