Decided on thing to try is to to buy and replace the recirculation valve with a proper blanking plate incase that is letting boost leak at higher revs.

You can do this fine but it may work or it won`t, just like myself if you have a problem you can only try by elimination of parts as you probably won`t get an error code for this.

One thing is that i get annoyed with is the car is going great but then the battery is disconnected for one reason or another and the ECU has to get used to your driving manner again when you connect up again. It seems to sus out what you do and give you the best it can but unfortunetly you have to wait for so many cold start`s etc.

Why don`t you disconnect the battery overnight remembering the radio code and then in the morning see what happens as the ECU should of reset itself properly and it should react different until used to your driving style.

It is only a chance but cost`s nothing.

I thought I'd add it's not just boost pressure at the actuator that opens the wastegate. The exhaust back pressure inside the turbine housing is also trying to push the wastegate flapper open from the inside. As revs rise, exhaust back pressure in the turbine housing also rises. If you have a weak actuator spring being opened due to back pressure, this will be evident above a certain point in the rev range.

May be way of the mark but it's another consideration =)

Do you mean wastegate itself or the wastegate actuator. To test the wastegate isn't stuck open just remove the rod from the turbine housing and ensure it moves freely.

To test if it's your BCS thats dud and not the actuator, bypass the bcs with a MBC, adjust the MBC as necessary and see if you still have the same problem.

If the problem goes, it's the BCS, if it doesn't it's the actuator. Be careful if you use a MBC and start at the lowest setting.
