A couple of questions.
So I've had my D2 R design for just over a week now.
It's really nice. I was taken back though that there was no R design embroidery on the seats. Apparently newer ones don't have it. Is this correct? Secondly, I didn't order a rain sensor, but there is a turning knob on my stalk with a picture of some rain. I have tried to use this but it's very inaccurate with the sweeps. Could anyone clarify? Apart from that I'm happy. Also, I haven't received my warranty or anything about the Volvo assistance you get for 3 years, but you get that through the post apparently. Thanks |

If you don't have rain sensative wipers, the knob will control the speed of the intermittent wiper. Set at the bottom will be about a 5 sec gap whilst the top setting should be near continous.

Yup that's right, the new model year 15 r designs do not come with the embroidery in the seats, no body really knows why and there has been massive complaints and debate over it on forums, my dealer has said something about its bringing it in line with the world spec as we are the only country that calls it an r design, not overly convinced with this reasoning!
You will also notice that if you test drove an older r design the gear knob has changed, again there has been tons of complaints, it's gone to a boring old style but it still illuminates, I have kicked off as have a few others and they have been changed for the idler 3d style, petty but when you expect it and you pay a lot of money you should get it. |

Does this mean that we can order a R series to be fitted with the lighter leather, rather that the funeral black which seems to be the only colour at present available?

Yes, I also noticed the gear stick. Very disappointed to say the least. Why get rid of these two things? Ridiculous. |
