well he's wrong.
if your car has been serviced properly it is just a basic service with no air filter, you had the larger service ( 72000 mile) last year didnt you? . Anyway air filter and fuel filter are changed together on the larger service so I would take it to someone who knows what they are doing ...
Keith Price garages for example in Abergavenny... volvo dealers since the 70's .

If the dealership can't get a service quote right because they can't properly check the systems they have in front of them, what chance has a "normal" garage got? Isn't the dealership (supposedly) the place that "knows what they're doing"?

I've had bad experiences with Volvo dealerships. In fact, I won't let them near my car. I know you can't paint all dealerships with the same brush and there's other things to consider like human error, training etc etc. Generally speaking, I don't think too highly of them.

The last service was about £478ish in November last year. I couldn't find the invoice so not sure if it was a larger service or not.

I heard about the Keith Price before. Thank you for the recommendation by the way. It seems similar to Mon Motors Cardiff which covers different branded vehicles, not just Volvo alone.

At 8 years you would be better doing it yourself as most updates will have been done by now

A full kit with all genuine filters ( air, cabin, oil and fuel ) comes to about £90.00 from Volvo parts trade ( used to be Mill Volvo )

I am not competent to do it honestly. But I do appreciate the suggestion.
