There's a Vivian, a 'whore', a Winnie just of the top off my head and i know there's more

The V40 is "dickie smalls" my namesake because it zips in and around and out of places really zippily.

I've forgotten what I called the C70 but "standing still" comes to mind because even when it is
it doesn't look it, and when doing the speed limit on cruise control it cruises past most people
as if they are.

My wife has a Motability car of her own - so mine is just "my car" or "the Volvo"

I've never named my cars. They are always known as 'The Volvo' 'The Fiesta' 'The Rolls' or whatever happens to be in the garage. The Bentley was always known as Jep as the number plate was JEP 111.

All my cars have however been female for the flowing reasons:

They are unpredictable and always surprise you when least expected.

They cost a fortune to maintain and always leave you short of cash.

They respond to love, care and attention.

The bodywork looks better after cosmetic treatment.

They respond to a masterful hand steering them in the right direction.

They provide pain and pleasure in equal measures. (Although this can cost extra)

It is good to get inside them and enjoy the ride.

Whenever the girlfriend and I go out it's shall we take 'the T4' or 'the Ovlov' or 'the money whore'.

Money whore is most used and unfortunately, most relevant.

In the 80's I had a Fiesta I used call clitoris because it was red and every c**t had one.

I could not put it any better and your account is my my view a an accurate reflection of the reality.

My S40 is called Genevieve for all the above reasons... and some more...

All my cars have been male. I dont know why but it just seems right. My XC60 is called Freddi because its sort of Swedish. My last car, an Audi A8, was simply known as The Baron - big fat thirsty and German.
Other named cars have been:
Jeeves the Jag.
Hermon (the German) Porsche 944.
Rex the Mazda RX8.
Kato the Datsun 240Z
Harry the Hurtler a Triumph Dolomite 1850HL - this was ironic as it rarely started let alone hurtled.
I have known someone with a red Ford called Robert - probably quite a few of these and someone with a Morris Minor called 'Bugger'.
