volvo v70 judder at idle
hi I put a post on a couple of months ago regarding a v70 2.4 non turbo 2000,which had a shudder at idle ,and hit and miss poor performance, well I took it to local auto electrician, who could find no electrical faults, but I had already fitted new o2 sensor as that was throwing a code, and fitted new plugs.i suspected an air leak, but nothing doing ,so I popped it into a mates garage who scanned it again ,and found knock sensor fault,so im going to change them and fingers crossed.does the parts number have to match exactly ?as im going to opt for second hand replacement,or can I use any for the v70 mk 2 sensors? many thanks

I had a 2000 V70 that had the same symptoms.
It turned out to be the ETM that's commonly mentioned on this site. New module fitted and its has not missed a beat since! |

if the judder is repetitive like a vibration - remove the top engine cover and try that.
sometimes the grommits are worn and they swash about and you can feel it and hear it in the cab, more on diesels tho |

thanks for replies firstly the throttle body has been repaired previously and is fine, and its not the engine covers,as I said fault code is showing knock sensor,so im going to try that first ,as I said im going to buy second hand ,does the knock sensor parts number have to be the same,or can I use any 2.4 sensors?.i did take the fire trap off and found the bottom hole on the blocked nearly completely closed up with s**t,so I don't suppose that helped
