"OE quality" is a generic catch-all term used by parts sellers which unfortunately can cover the entire range between excellent quality and appalling so as suggested by others, replacing arms in pairs is always the way to go and this goes for all suspension and brake related parts.
Defects we can see or show using hand tools to manipulate them are only the tip of the iceberg so once you have 2 tons of car exerting its forces, it can highlight less obvious defects. Basically, if one side needs doing, the other side either won't be too far behind or will at least be significantly different in its operation or overall condition compared to the new one. Changing one side will often pass an MOT but it's rarely a good long term solution.

Ok thanks, I do normally do everything in pairs, only reason I didn't was because the other looked new but will change it ASAP to the same one
