V50 rdesign shuddering when accelerating.
Hi everyone, wonder if anyone can help
Having trouble with my v50 rdesign 10 plate, when driving along,as I accelerate mainly from 40-70 the car starts to shudder and rattle whilst accelerating,I have had the wheel balance and the brakes change and still no luck at stopping it,had the injectors looked at as well and still no luck, was just wondering if anyone has had this problem with theirs or if anyone knows what the problem could be. Many thanks it advance. |

is it a mechanical shudder or other form?
I test drove remapped BMW 330d and despite me being used to clutches slipping when wearing/worn, this one shuddered under the torque when trying to press on but seemed fine if just taking it easy, which I had never experienced before.

If it's manual does it do this irrespective of what gear it's in when you are accelerating? If the car is stationary and in neutral and you rev the engine to the same speed as it would be when accelerating from 40-70, does the car rattle and shudder? If at, say, 60 mph, you lift off the throttle while still in gear, does the problem go away? If it's a manual gearbox and you lift off the throttle and put it into neutral and freewheel at, say, 60 mph, does the problem go away? |

Hi. I've just bought a 2011 V50 1.6 D2 which does exactly the same. I've had it in to a mechanic who's diagnosed it as a near side driveshaft. He hasn't had time to book it in for fixing yet but I'll let you know what happens.

I had an S60 that did the same, it turned out to be a drive shaft. Replaced the driveshafts and hey presto... all better.
