Default Volvo V40 t4 2.0 idling high.

As above my 2.0T4 is idling high and erratically. In the region of 1500 rpm to 2000 rpm. There are no air leaks and I have a new maf sensor. Now I'm guessing this is the idle control valve? Has anyone else experience this problem? I should appreciate some advise!

Also where can I find an ICV for a t4? I'm having trouble finding this part, assuming I need it of course.

Thanks in advance.

Matt

Is it a genuine replacement MAF meter? Aftermarket meters can send out incorrect readings to the ECU.

Most likely a sticking idle air control valve and or throttle body butterfly valve not closing 100%. Thoroughly clean both.

GUIDE: Removing and cleaning the idle control valve (ICV) ...courtesy of Manoman48

Could also be early signs of failing engine coolant temperature sensor so if the symptoms continue after cleaning the above you know where to look next.

Thanks for your reply Ian. Yeah the MAF is genuine. I've cleaned both thoroughly but to no avail! All I can think is that the icv is faulty....
