Hi all. I've been following this one as it was on e-bay at £1295 (not on auction but classified ad'). Was trying to justify a trip to UK to buy it. But alas just cannot do it.
Just looked again to have a last drool & the price has dropped to £999! Thought you guys maybe interested.

For better or worse i bought it ,i did'ent want a white one but what the hell ,so it's living in Scotland now and needs work before it's road worthy. Thinking about turning it into a Batternberg .

Hey, congrats on the purchase. I'm well chuffed that it went to someone on here.

What work does it need? Guess it can't be too drastic as it has a 12 month ticket.

No mot . I bought it without (i trust my work but some of the work i've seen done by garage's is not up to my standard) for less money but should have offered even less as they were too quick to take my offer, pity my wife was'ent there i should have left it up to her to barter she's soft but has a tighter streak than me lol. It wants a good service (the car) as there's as there's no service history after 50,000 . So all fluids/filters/plugs/cambelt &tensioner will be changed ,handbrake cable is'ent, O/s brake is'ent working, tailgate window is leaking water in from the top of it (very stange as it looks perfect),rear light len'se want replacing as both are badly damaged along with the front indicator lens,headlamps scratched due to last owner not replacing wipers, that's for starter's even before i get my hands mucky. O and this morning the battery is flater than a pancake 7.2 volts. Paid a visit to Lloyds Volvo, Carlisle yesterday to get some idea of prices for the bits , some of the price's did'ent seem too bad, but i will see once i have phoned around my useual suppliers.I have a few Queries which i will be posting shortly so hope someone can help a new 940 owner.

You should do well with Lloyds. My in-laws live in Silloth & have obtained various bits for my Volvo's all at greatly discounted costs.

I get great service from them.

Just picked up on Sat. Fuel filter, oil filter, sump plug washer, air filter and 4 litres of Castrol Magnetec 10w40 for a total of £46.96

Oil at £3.99 a litre can't be bad.

Can't be bad ,when i went in on Saterday i was quoted (best price) by Neil i think, 1997 940 2.3 petrol . Oil filter £5.26, air filter £20.77, petrol filter £15.30 ,that = £41.32 . So how do you do it ?. Just out of curiosity as i had to go into Halfords (not a place i frequent) oil filter £5.99,airfilter£15.49, no fuel filters in stock so no price.

Are those prices inc vat?

I do get all my parts there and do 30k miles a year. With repairs servicing and parts I have probably spent £3k+ in the last 2 years.

Edit spent just over £1100 on this car in last year with Lloyd.
