Exclamation Help! Possible window dislodge in cold

Hi all,

As you probably know in England at the moment, it is very cold and icy.

It is very cold, snowy and frosty outside my house. When I was moving my 2004 S60 just now, I accidentally pressed the electric window switch for the passenger side window instead of the lock button.

This caused a bit of a thud to happen, as there must have been a frozen layer of ice on the seal of the glass meets the car.

The window then proceeded to go down at one side and then finally the other. I panicked and then put the window back up and it as sealed. I did test it one more time and it went at a slight angle once again, but has gone up to the top and sealed.

My question is, should I be worried? or when everywhere thaws out should it be okay?

Thanks in advance,

Sam

No, i´m not an expert but a Volvo should be able to take some ice.

Disappointingly, my door mirrors freeze solid and seize pretty much any time we experience cold conditions (such as today!). Somehow our Kia Sportage has never suffered this problem.

Update:

It was in fact one of the blue clips which had snapped.

Sorry to hear about your Kia mate lol

On balance, the Kia is definitely a better car than the Volvo... It hasn't needed any EGR valve and cooler replacements, nor a replacement intake manifold. Neither has it needed a whole bunch of recalls. Kia is a very underrated make, while Volvo have been trading on past glories for a decade or so. Admittedly the Volvo is nicer to look at when it's parked up!

Glad you fixed your car.
