err, so Lex/VCL are requesting some sort of permission from Volvo, we'll know by Thursday apparently. I'm assuming this is confirmation of the vehicle return etc. No idea...

MPG is dropping again and car still stinks of diesel.

I suspect there is a leak somewhere so it better not go wonky again on the school run

So bored of the chasing and the BS with all this.

Is your rejection deal with Lex dependent on taking a new lease with them? You going to risk another XC90?

Nope, we've asked for the 3 months deposit back and a few other written guarantees such as all fee's waived etc.

So I guess it's the process Lex have to go thru with Marshalls, the supplying dealer etc

Roll up roll up - who wants a good LOL this AM...

Sensus system crashed 3 times in a row this am and distance alert cut in and out at various points like it was having trouble locking on.

Car still reaks of Diesel too so it's either a continued leak OR dealer has not cleaned the engine bay properly from the leak caused by injector

On a motorway run of 30 miles round trip got 27mpg outbound and only just 31mpg return.

Thats pretty bad considering I'm driving it like a nun as terrified its going to break at any moment.

jmot, I know it is not always the case if you need a car and not have a spare, but for the love of god can you not just leave the car at dealer and say "yours now I not want it no more, money back or court" ?????

The car is dangerous and undrivable

Absolutely. It will end up going out via BCA and some poor schmuck somewhere else in the country is going to be on here at some point and have the biggest sinking feeling when they read the cars history..

So Lex's offer is pro-rate refund on initial deposit, all other fee's waived. Got to provide them details of GAP insurance and any other costs and they'll pro-rate those.

Our feeling is thats insufficient down to the car being an absolute dog we're at extra early cost now for having to replace the car so are seeking to escalate it at Lex.

However, I'm minded to take the refund and get out the car ASAP then pursue a complaint via the financial ombudsman.

Marshall on the other hand have proved themselves to be the proverbial chocolate teapot as not even the courtesy of a reply to my email complaint this AM requesting the car be booked in for the sensus fault and investigation into the diesel stink. I know he's had the email as Lex informed me it was discussed.

An acquaintance had a nightmare with hos Phaeton (years ago) it started 6 weeks from new, it stranded him several times, the boot wouldn’t open, dash went black, levy seats moved on their own.... anyway, after 10 months he reached an agreement with VW to take it back, they hadn’t got to the bottom of anything.

Within 24hrs it was on the local VW dealers forecourt with a price on the window! They told him it was going to back to the training centre so the factory trainers could take a look.

going to get the car valeted and the winter rubber off tomorrow. Also going to try and run it till the light comes on, not giving them an inch of fuel more than enough to get them off the driveway... at current MPG thats probably 2 days worth lol... tanks half full.
