Default Dead battery, fan keeps working for long hour

Yesterday I could not start my XC90 (2011) because of the dead battery. It has happened twice since I bought it. I noticed the fan of my car keeps working for some time even after I stopped the engine and locked the door(sometimes more than 1h) , or just after I beep the door and not yet start engine the fan will automatically turn on. Has Anybody met these?

noticed it for the first time on my 2003 XC90 the other day (only had it for 1 month)

parked up and locked car as i walked a way i noticed the fan was still on.

went and put key in ignition and turned to pos 2 and off. then the fan turned off. walked away and didn't worry about it.

hope that helps

Yes, happens on my 2009, never noticed it on my 2004.

It's to do with condensation being removed from the system after the aircon has been on.

But the battery should be big / powerful enough to run the fans for a time, might be a dopey cell in the battery or something.

The fan is only supposed to operate for 15 minutes and any time up to about an hour after the car's locked.

As previous poster's said, it is to control condensation when the A/C has been on.
