How old is my V70 battery?
Just bought a 2003 V70 D5 and it is fitted with a Volvo battery.
The battery has the following embossed on the top: H3B3852830804 I like to replace the battery every 4-5 years but the service history on this car is unclear; the cost of a regular replacement easily out-wieghs the inconvenience of a flat battery. |

If it gives a good turn over then it doesn't really matter. Just be ready to replace around winter time

My 2001 V70 battery failed last summer at circa 150k miles.
The battery was Volvo branded but my car was fleet maintained until I got it at 90k and had never seen a Volvo dealer, so I believe it was the original. A motor factors shop tested the old one; ok on a meter, dead cell on a hydrometer. New battery was less than £50. |
