Question How long did your O.E. Battery last?

Hi Folks,
My V70 D5 is coming up to 12 years old; I've had it for 7 years and it is still, to the best of my knowledge, on it's original i.e. factory fitted battery. Every winter I think that it will be curtains for the battery but it keeps on going! My question is: have I just been lucky or is this commonplace?
Cheers,
Nobby

Still original at 13 years.
I keep threatening to replace it but then I don't.

I'm loathe to buy a new battery 'just in case'. I'm hoping that it will give me a little bit of warning before it dies. IMHO the colder mornings tend to find the battery's shortcomings and they start cranking somewhat slower than normal.......fingers crossed! They must be top quality to last 12-13 years, my previous record was 9 years on a VW Polo battery.

On the 850 I get around 4 years. Current one is 3years so will probably need changing soon.

On my 53 d5 the battery was replaced in 2006 and has been there since, so 9 years.

Wonder if having it situated within the car makes them last longer as opposed to being exposed to the elements like at the front of the 850?

Matt

Changed my battery in the D5 which was original from 2004. Still could have got more from it, but the slow cranking was frustrating me. My old S40 1.9d still has the original battery in it after nearly 13 years, and shows no signs of getting old.
