Default Is this an issue just for the Phase 3 ?

Hi all,

have been reading this thread with interest as on my XC70 2005 D5 the same squeaky noises and occasional knocks and bangs are quite apparent when the road surface is not too even (and luckily for me that seems to be all across Sussex) It got so bad that when driving in the Netherlands my niece from the back told me it sounded like someone was walking through fresh snow and if the car was falling apart ? Passed the MoT without any problems though.

Now I am not technically at all but just wondering now if this issue might be the same as what has been described by the honourable members already and if so, if there are parts for a Phase 2 that can be ordered ? By the sound of it, it seems the problem is not only apparent at the rear but also at the front and for a moment I thought my useless FourC had died on me .....

if it is the same issue, can the local garage chap fix this if I tell them what to replace or .... ? Help anyone ?

A 2005 XC70 will be a phase 2 so the rear suspension is very different.

Talking My 2 cents

Just to chime in. I had this problem on my 2008 V70 2.4D. Seem to have finally found out it was the rear seat support elements, where they enter the frame underneath the seats - were squeaking, as metal-on-metal. Nothing a litte oil didnt fix. Hope this helps someone. Jonathan

Just had my rear trailing arm bushes replaced today and the squeak has gone. 👍🏻
