Well Baffs what can I say

I combined your advice with that I had seen on a Yankee site ( set of mole grips on the shaft and prise up with a second pair ) and perchanced upon Brett passing by in his big flash merc

With my holding the bottom grips to provide some extra leverage she just popped off - clips intact

Thanks to one an all for their assistance

Anybody any advice re lubing the ball and other joints whilst gator is off ?

I think we might need a day of national celebration!

The notorious BIG has pulled off his own knob

You're welcome, Biggfella, glad you're making progress with it!

To the best of my knowledge it's just white lithium grease on the various joints. I guess you could use silicone grease in there too but don't use the widely available EP2 as it contains sulphurs which can make plastic deteriorate quicker. I'm open to be corrected on that

Cheers Baffs because I was worried about seals I popped the question

And Nutts yes I think every Wednesday morning at 1100 we should have a national clap

Utterly ridiculous but the samples of orange hide were received, one approved by the trimmer, ordered, received from Italy and sat there a week before the bloody knob was off !!!!

All the best guys, Volvo removal tool and my skills open all hours for hire !!!
