P* my biggest waste of 700 quid ever. If they could keep the PowerPulse hose intact that would be a start. I had my last BMW 530 chipped for less and it went like a rocket. Seriously... trying to convince myself I notice gears changing at a slightly different time. What a load of bollox. Snake oil, that's what is is. Shouldn't need to be paying for this on a 50k+ car.

So far I'm tending to agree with you, as I actually thought I would. Its early days for me yet though. It does alter the gear change mapping noticeably though and my daughter even noticed that. Whether there is any real advantage to me from that is a different matter. As is whether the advantage, if any, is actually worth paying for.
Its just a remap and once done, it should cost next to nothing. It only takes about 20 minutes to flash the control computer and there's no hardware involved apart from a laptop and dongle which are used for all kinds of other stuff.

What have you got it on and how long for? I think its still on offer, so won't cost me £700 should I decide to keep it. If it was £200, I'd say it was OK for someone who wanted the alternative mapping it provides. I'm no sure yet that I'm one of them. Indeed if it manages to convince me to keep it, it will be a minor miracle for Polestar and the dealer.

That raises the question if this will also happen after a Polestar update, and if so, where it will lead to.
Not really. Should have been a bit more specific. I drive everywhere in eco mode and the hesitancy and surging are generally when pulling away or slowing right down meaning you have to be really gentle with the throttle. I’ll try comfort today and see how it affects my economy. I managed 70.6mpg on the drive home yesterday which is the best I’ve seen yet.

Pretty much sums up my suspicions - I’m not going to bother. I’d rather spend money improving the aesthetics of my car.

Is there a towing mode, haven't used it yet for towing but will be in a weeks time as going up to Scotland for a month.

Exclusively in Eco mode, the transmission completely didengages to coast with no drive and no engine braking. Obviously it has to re-engage from this state.
I almost never use Eco mode. The Polestar Comfort mode seems to be the polar opposite of Eco, with a strong emphasis on enhanced downshifts and the resultant engine braking, which actually suits the rather hilly roads around here. Having said that, I found nothing wrong with the factory settings.

I know exactly what eco does to the gearbox and really like it. It only disengages above 40mph to coast. It’s an excellent feature that all premium auto exec cars have. It’s the slow speed pulling away and slowing down “shunting” that’s the only downside.

If that is indeed the case, are you then left without Comfort mode?
Being the mode I always use and like as it is, Polestar would not be an improvement for me.
Not that I have to consider it, Polestar is not available as an upgrade in Belgium.

So basically Polestart take away Eco mode to make the car rev better and charge us £700 for it?

When you have had a decent run out with P* could you let us know how it effects economy. Presumably the same as changing from comfort mode to dynamic mode? Not sure I can quite see the point of it especially if you don't spend much time in dynamic.
