Default Driving in Europe with my new S90 R-Design

Hi all,

Just a quick question if I may?

I will be traveling to Europe in the next month or so, My car does not have active headlights so i was wondering if I have to use those stickers to change the beams? I know most new Volvo's have this option.

Cheers peeps

Thanks for the link. I seem to be more confused after going through the thread.

I might just ring up customer support and find out. I have no idea where to put the blocking pads..... I'm sure i'll need them lol

I am sure there is a setting in the car that can change the beam from RHD to LHD. Go to setting and look for Lights or My car....

Don't need those ugly sticker

HAHAHA i really don't want to use them. problem is I don't have active lights. Me being really stupid thought they were standard when i looked at the car in the showroom, didn't realise it was an added extra. lol. That option was in the car i viewed but obviously showroom model has every conceivable extra.

I drove to Austria in February, using motorways and also roads without a central reservation (I.e. no barrier between me and oncoming traffic that might shield oncoming traffic from my lights). I didn’t encounter any issues with my standard lights. I didn’t notice anyone flashing me - I spent a few hours driving in the dark.

Information is in the owners handbook in the sensus , I believe no action is needed as for the last few years the beams are almost flat across the road so no kink up on the left . Drive it up to a wall in the dark and you will see .

Not true I am afraid.

Here is a link to my post showing a MY 2018 XC60 beam pattern. Most definitely a "Kink" up to the left:

Have you considered the possibility that your n/s headlamp needs adjusting downwards to level the two.

I'd say they are both at the same level if you allow for the fact that both beams have an upward tick as is normal for dipped beam headlamps when driving on the left.

My car has adaptive headlamps and displays this same pattern on normal dipped beams but it does a have a setting in Sensus to allow for driving on the right. I've haven't checked what actual difference this makes.
