mk1 460 CD
Over the past few months there has been a lot of talk about how rare 460's are well they dont come much rarer than this !
Up for grabs is my beloved mk1 460 CD turbo. The car is in realy good condition for its age and is curently taking up space on my driveway. First registered in 92 this J reg example was one of the first 460 CD's and is proberly one of the last left ! Bodywise the shell is sound with no rear sill rot with the only realy bad points being a large scratch across the bonnet and rust starting to appear on the lip of the boot lid. More details and some pics can be found here ... http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=80340 Everything still works as it should including the info centre and both heated seats. Current mileage is showing 34146 although the speedo was changed by the original owner at about 22k so that would put the true mileage about 56k so not too bad for a 20 year old motor. I did change the suspension and alloys although I still have the original suspension that will go with the car. The engine is totaly original, never been messed with and the turbo is in good condition. Now down to the big question how much ?? Well as I was originaly given the car by another forum member it would'nt be right to try and sell it to make a few quid so I am offering the car for FREE but only on the condition that it goes to a good home where she would be looked after and apreciated. I dont want her to end up being scrapped for spare parts as she is far too good and rare to be disposed of ! The main reason for parting with the car is we are seriously looking into relocating to another part of the country and has nothing at all to do with any major problems with it. Indeed at the weekend I simply reconnected the battery and she started first time. Before I retired her last september I fitted a new starter motor as the old one stated playing up and being an auto box bump starting is not realy an option. I did have problems with the new starter not engaging properly so this may need looking at some point. Currently she is on a SORN so would need collecting with a trailer. When I aquired the car off Pete I think I paid about £50 to hire a trailer for half a day. The car is located in Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham. Whilst in my ownership I also replaced the rear calapers, handbrake cables, wishbone bushes and part of the exhaust so she should fly through her next MOT. IF intrested please send me a PM. (No tyre kickers please !) Cheers Dave.
