Hi all, I'm looking for some roof bars for my XC60, think that I want to go for a wing style bar to try to keep the wind noise down. Is there any other brands that are worth looking at other than THULE? Anyone got any recommendations.

Have a look at The Roof Box Company. They sell a variety of different makes at a range of prices.
I bought an Atera which I am happy with. |

I have the Aero bars from RBC, originally on my Hyundai, bought new mounts for the Volvo. Well made quality products and good service.

I have found Thule bars and Exodus bars have done me good over the years. No issue at all and reasonably priced.

Thule kit holds its value well, with a good resale market. This can reduce the cost of accessory ownership when you come to change your vehicle.

Whispbar was 75% the price of Thule. Other than being an aero bar, it also curves across the roof.

Thule are very good if a little expensive bought new. Big savings to be had buying second hand, I purchased 2 aero bars and 4 pro ride bike carriers for £180 and even after having to purchase the correct bits to fit the car for £100 new it was still a bargain. They also feel much sturdier than the bike carriers that fit over the rear window. I also think they put the S into SUV. Lol

First off, the rail curvature demonstrated by a 1m spirit level placed centrally along the length. Then the Thule box flipped upside down to check the underside for flatness. But no, similar curvature. This box is 800mm wide and holds somewhere between 400 - 450l. It seems these people have been making luggage boxes for a while ;-). But to be sure, check yours. |
