Unhappy Central locking gremlins

Hi all,

New user so treat me gently!! Searched previous posts but couldn't find anything directly relevant.

Today noticed that V50 2.0d LHD was unlocking the drivers side rear door after operating the central locking from the key fob. Tried to lock from inside but it pops back up when operate central locking.

Any advice appreciated

Options

1) WD-40 into door via button

2) Strip out door panel and lubricate / investigate ( non-preferred option as sub zero here at present )

3) 75 km drive to nearest Volvo dealer

Please help

I have the exact opposite when its sub zero here. The button pops up and then immediately goes back down again.

I suspect it is water in the sleeve of the cable in the locking mechanism but looking in the Haynes book, its a nightmare to strip out.

At least mines always locked I suppose.

Default Useful info on electrics in doors

Hi

Found this on another forum, the wiring loom runs through the front door, and I intend to try and clean it this week, here seems to be a debate on whether the loom needs replacing or whether greasing may be enough to stop the corrosion problem

Regards

I doubt its that. The symptoms for the door connectors being corroded are a door that is completely dead. Yours seems to have power if it locks and then unlocks.

What year is yours?.
