hey all!
i bought a cruise control kit to retro fit on my 96' 945 and found out that Volvo had changed the plugs on the cruise control module somewhere along the line.
Anyway my pre-wired car has a different plug in the wiring loom than the module i have. Need to hack the wires there somehow. As the module alone is quite hard to come by.
Is the indicator stalk also different on newer model? Cannot find a matching plug under the dash
On the left is the CC plug of the newly installed indicator stalk, on the right is an unused plug in the car's wiring loom which i suspect might be for the CC?

Which cruise module do you need?

From what you've said, i'm wondering if firstly the wiring is taped into the loom (a common trick by manufacturers) or perhaps doesn't actually exist in your car for whatever reason.

i need the 9130081 module (2nd link), the one i bought with the kit was p/n 3544361.
it seems that i do have the wiring as there is a unused plug in the left side of the driver's footwell (left hand drive car) which looks that it might belong to the CC module
https://ibb.co/9VrJW47

My question was if it Volvo used a different indicator stalk plug for the later models as well or was it the same for all years and one should probably be hidden somewhere under my dash?
because i found one unused 4 pin plug but this does not fit the one i have on the indicator stalk (picture in my last post)

As far as i know, from 95 on Volvo did use a different stalk on the 940 that cosmetically matched those in the 760/960. However, electrically i believe they were the same as the earlier 940 and 740. Note that the 7/960 models do NOT have a hazard warning switch built in so aren't interchangeable either. Be careful as many ebay sellers think they're the same but they're not!

This is a pic of the cruise stalk on my 98 breaker car. It's very similar to my 96 car but has the button on the end of the stalk

I had promised it to someone but cant remember who. The pedal box was sold from the car and although I removed the switches I couldn't get the little plates off that are riveted in so that part is missing

Luckily I have a spare one of those plates and my brother's car is automatic. Please let me know if Matty doesn't want it
